sunday before lasts’ hang-over remedy:

palm beach, takes more than an hour and a half to get to on the bus
from sydney nice in the bright sunlight with a bad head…. (and from
what ive seen not much less time if you have a car) , its about 35km
away but still in the sprawl of houses. there is nice little light
house at the end of the spit of land that has beaches on both sides
(which for some reason i forgot to take pics of with the digital
camera) it costs three dollars to go up the top and your tour guide
will attempt to not give away the fact this is his first day and he
knows a lot less about the light that you do from reading the displays
and looking at pictures in the light keepers house.

you will notice the locals have not flocked to the beach even though
it is sunday lunchtime, thats because even tho its t-shirt and shorts
weather for me they are all dressed in jumpers and jackets!

i did symphasise with the little fish in the rock pool which was only
about a metre across, he looked a little lonely swiming around in
circles there….

after climbing 2 headlands, and seeing my third identical looking
beach of the day I caught the bus home from Avalon (i didn’t see King
Arthur there, no) thinking ’nuff beaches. the last pic shows sydney in
the distance (the patch of grey pixels on the horizon just right of
centre) with the reamaining ummm, 8 or so headlands and beaches in
between, yawn

The trail leads on through a boulder choke and impressive towering cliffs.

fish caught in a rock pool at low tide – under the cliffs between palm and whale beach there are many of these eroded hemispherical rock formations filled with seawater.
